well hello there! how are you?
long time no see.
this weekend i adventured to the royal city to see victoria (by way of introduction). i like it there very much; good people and good times, and life is beautiful.
all around it feels like christmas...my emusic subscription renewed ealier than expected. today i picked up some José González and am presently chilling to his voice and guitar. well well, as i reread this, since i'm taking my sweet time getting this post together, i find that i'm now listening to some ladysmith black mambazo...so good.
web-wise, i updated the miscellaneous section of the site to reflect my experiments with picasa's new web album functionality. it is pretty slick! here are my albums, enjoy.
tonight i might finish reading the te of piglet, then i may try to read the comedy of errors, if not just a summary, since tomorrow i'll be seeing it in the park with victoria and some workmates—dream in high park.
and so, i'll go get on top of that. i hope everyone is well and happy.

first the near future, then the recent past.
today, i received a fire assignment in kapuskasing and i'm just stopping by at the apartment to get some laundry done and pack before heading to the airport. tonight, i'm flying to timmins, where i'll spend the night. tomorrow, i'll be driving up with the insurance adjuster and doing my investigation before returning to timmins and catching a flight out that evening. fun times. fingers crossed, maybe i'll get the opportunity to shoot some photographs for fun.
random flittering thought, before i forget: when i was mentioning music that i snagged recently, i didn't mention nobody. nobody is very very good. give him a listen on his site there.
so, that brings us around to the recent past, which (of necessity) relates to the present and future. so, to explain my smiles (if you have seen me around), and my absence (if this blog is your primary connection with me), and just because i really want to, i'd like to say a little more about victoria. so, here is an abridged love story.
i met victoria (a.k.a. "vicki") in first year university, during frosh week. i saw her walking in the hall in residence and had to talk to her. so i did. and that is where our story began. we formed a great friendship and both harboured feelings for one another, her more secretly than i. sadly, we lost touch—i fear this was likely my fault.
enter several years, stage left.
now not to say that victoria passed out of my thoughts entirely, but she did enter them quite singularly in the middle of june, while i was sitting on my balcony contemplating life, the universe, and everything. with a big idiot grin, i came to my computer, searched for her email address, and composed a brief missive. her reply came the following day. in it, she told me that she had sent me a letter in the mail the day before...the day i had sent her the email...before receiving my email...
and so we were brought back together, and it is for you to decide if cupid's hand was in it—either way, i have love in my heart and peace in my soul.
update (2006/08/12): i was listening to the dawn and drew show on the plane and dawn used a word that described the above-outlined situation perfectly: synchronicity.
right now, vicki is in thailand with her friend anne. i'm jealous!
woops...speaking of travel, i have to get myself to the airport right about now. end transmission.

last night, jesse died. much love to her.

yesterday, my friend nathan stopped on by and then we adventured up to the hometown for some relaxing bonfire action. nathan is just back from his european getaway, which he blogged here. it was great to see him and i'm excited because he's going to be moving to the big smoke come september.
today, i woke up and did some pseudo-kendo in the backyard with my brother's bokken. after that, it was off to the theatre with my mum to see "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". it was entertaining but not particularly satisfying, and possibly too long.
returning home, i took my bicycle for a spin around town. this adventure was made possible by my mom and dad's combined assistance in getting my flat repaired, as well as procuring and installing a new set of (decidedly pimpin') pedals. thanks folks.
it is nearing 10 p.m. and i'm atypically tired for this hour, which may have something to do with the fact that i was ravenous this afternoon and have eaten more than my fill. so, i think i'm going to read in bed and let sleep take me sooner than later.
goodnight world.

hello. i just got in from a nightly walkabout and figured i'd touch base with you my friends.
yesterday i met up with debbie and we went to see You, Me and Dupree. it was funny and the fictional character dupree reminded me of the real-world character of azaybio to some extent.
after the movie we came back to my apartment, had a few beers (well, i had a few beers, and debbie had a strongbow), and i donned a tweed jacket for my first grocery run in twenty-three days! thanks for the assist on that one debbie. wow, it is so exciting to have food in my cupboards and fridge—i found myself daydreaming of what i'd make for dinner several times today.
tonight i cleaned the place up a bit and then went for a long walk. on my walk i saw an old general electric fridge at the curb that had a sign posted on it: "still works, but is really heavy." awesome.
and now i'm off to play a little guitar, read a little of the third and final book of the baroque cycle (finally!), and sleep. g'night folks.

well, i haven't done much blogging lately, and you've missed a lot. so, here is a list-style update to bring everyone up to speed.
- on saturday, i had just left home and was on my way to visit kyle, who is in ontario briefly before adventuring to british columbia, when the suv beside me decided to change lanes directly into me;
- no one was hurt and so i'm alive to love another day—huzzah!;
- my car is at an auto body shop and i'm driving a rental;
- sunday i had dinner and movie with cameron and we drank some wine, good times;
- yesterday i had a site up north of huntsville and it was so nice to drive up there and enjoy the beauty of less-southern ontario; and,
- last night, i went to the duke of york and met up with kyle, james, troupe (sp?), and megan. jayley joined us a little later, having gone to see dave chappelle. guinness ensued. i even ordered a guinness pudding, which simply resembled a glass of guinness. jayley had one too, at my suggestion, but hadn't realized it wasn't an alcoholic beverage...this caused much (mock) anger and merriment.
victoria is coming home saturday and that's all i can really think about.
and now i'm off to work, and might be hanging out with aleksandra this evening. sheesh, i'm a busy man.
okay, have a good day, one and all.

hello again.
first and foremost, victoria and anne are both home safe from thailand and there is every indication that they both had a great time—victoria is slowly rolling out the stories, which are phenomenal (in content and in the telling) :)
i can't wait to see more of this world.
while victoria succumbed to much deserved sleep (i forget the x-many-hours in x-many-days figure, but it was ridiculous), i stole the book wicked from her shelf. vicki has graciously lent it to me after i enjoyed the first couple of chapters. i think i'll be reading that later tonight, after a walk and some tea.
today at the office i moved into a new room (i.e., a new office in the office). after work, i picked up my car. aside from one infinitesimal flaw that i took pains to discover, artex looks right as rain. that name is little used and little known, but it is the vehicle's proper name ;)
tonight i restrung my steel string and finished watching constantine.
and so, happy monday my friends.
