last night i went to see ben harper with jayley, allison, and tyler. the music was absolutely amazing. i feel so inspired.
leon mobley played some mad djembe. that made me want to play some mad djembe :)
the only negative was that yesterday was disgustingly wet and cold. when i got in last night i hit a hot shower then had some tea and soup before nodding off. right now, i'm brewing some cerasse tea. after that, i may try to sleep again to dissuade my body from being sick.
in any event, today will be a day of rest. so, i best get to that. take care, one and all.

guess what arrived in the mail today.
give up?
four tickets to see bruce cockburn next month, huzzah!
it is really nice outside. i'm just finishing up some laundry, then i'm going for a walk. when i get back, i'm going to work on a file for a couple of hours. later, lindsay is coming over so we can play catch up on her european adventures and my local ones.
my emusic subscription renewed and this time around i discovered mia doi todd...wow. here is a free tune she has on what i assume is her site. recently i ranted about nobody...they are on the same label, and one of nobody's songs has mia's vocals on it. her stuff is beautiful, and her lyrics are brilliant.
and the dryer calls.
peace be with you all my friends.

awk! busy busy, no time to post. but i must...because i don't have an rss feed, so the four or five people that check out this website must get annoyed when their efforts go unrewarded, right?
back to the basics, a list-style update follows:
- saturday i went to the virgin festival on toronto island with jayley. lawn chairs, good music, good times. as always, thanks for being the funstigator j-man!
- sunday i was in guelph and my mom trekked out to meet victoria (as in, for the first time) over some yummy thai-vietnamese cuisine...mmm. suprisingly, mom didn't produce baby pictures of me over lunch, haha. i suspect a plot on her part though, possibly involving snail mail (yup, i'm on to you).
- the frog in my throat from the ben harper concert has taken up residence and i'm not feeling 100% at all. please, please, go away (not you, the sickness).
- because of the above-mentioned frog, i missed chad's one-song-event, but will get to meet up with him tonight for his party—huzzah!
- wednesday craig and judit came over for dinner, mariokart: double dash!! action, and even some mr. show. good times. huzzah for new torontonian coconspirators!
- last night—which is still tonight for me, since this is an early morning post—i hung out with nathan and emma and got to check out their new digs. i repeat, huzzah for new torontonian coconspirators!
- also, somewhere in there my hosting service provider had a server failure that they decided not to fix.
jimmyjames, thank you so much for years of free lunches when it came to domain name registration and webhosting...truly, you're a good man. and so, i am now proudly hosted by dreamhost, which i came across thanks to my fellow blogger neongreen. so, now that i'm paying to own this corner of the internet, i have big plans to (1) learn a whole lot more about web development and design, and (2) to start implementing some (major?) changes around here. there may be some lag between the stimulus and the response though, so (sigh, as always) wait and see my friends, wait and see.
and so, i bid you all a good day, or sweet dreams, depending on when you read this. ttfn.

i attended chad's musical soiree on friday night. i had a really good time and got to meet some really awesome folks. i shot the event with the new d200. the pics are up as an album in my picasa web albums.
the following people performed. check them out.
- chad laughing (i.e., chad)
- kim
- the lazy eye project
- ory no'man with jason on bass.
sarah and Éilis came along as things were winding down. good people. sarah didn't perform, and i'm just listening to her (above-linked) music right now. i like it a lot.
a good part of saturday was spent waking up. the remainder was spent going to my parents' house, eating and watching movies, then going to guelph and passing out.
sunday, vicki and i bought some ram for her computer (did you know that you can run windows xp on 128 mb of ram? well, you can, you just can't do anything on the computer), then we went out for some burgers downtown. vicki worked in the afternoon, so i divided my time between hanging out with her super-fantastic housemates and fixing up her computer.
tonight i've been relaxing and have watched several episodes of ask a ninja. james at work has been pushing it for quite some time, and now i must thank him, because it is hilarious.
and now i'm going to continue wasting away my night. peace be with you my friends.

well, it has been quite a little while, and "trusting" my memory, i've already forgotten half of the events that transpired since my last post.
i do recall the coming and going of debbie's birthday. happy birthday my friend! this event was celebrated both with a dinner on thursday night of last week and bit of theatre on saturday. debbie, her friend dan, and i went to see the duchess of malfi in stratford (city, festival). i think i should have read the play first...because i didn't exactly follow every twist and turn of the plot. one thing is certain though, there was a whole lot of penis going on in one particularly disturbing scene. i think that is all i have to say about that.
on wednesday night of this week, my brother played a show in the danforth. jayley, chad, and i hit that, good stuff bro! my brother played a song using the "lap tapping" method that he learned of from erik mongrain, of recent internet fame (hit that link, watch the videos, astonishing).
during the show, skye, my brother's friend, drew a picture of me that i much enjoy. it now populates my rather sparse contact page. check it out. my friend kyle says i look too young in it...i guess i'm old :P
as you'll know from my grumbling, i haven't been feeling well. unfortunately, this came to a head thursday morning, when i was unable to go to work because my throat hurt terribly and my body was entirely sapped of strength. this persisted through today, which i mostly spent sleeping. this being sick thing has gotten me quite down, especially because a camping expedition was planned for this weekend. alas, i guess the weather wasn't that fair anyway. merp. i'm sure i'll cheer up as soon as i see a certain someone.
until we meet again.

p.s., new photo, and new picasa web album.
